Saundersfoot Sailing Club

The Harbour, Saundersfoot, SA69 9HE

Information

Saundersfoot Sailing Club has been an integral part of the Saundersfoot community for over 60 years and is one of the largest stakeholders involved with the harbour, which is the very hub of the village.

Currently with around 200 members, the club extends a warm welcome to the local community and also those from further afield.

It offers social activities as well as the water activities, which include dinghy and cruiser sailing, motor boating and kayaking, and runs a Royal Yachting Association accredited sailing school, which introduces both children and adults to sailing and offers a wide range of courses to suit all abilities.

Club membership is £20 per year and includes all the benefits of the licensed clubhouse which, having an unrivalled position overlooking the harbour, offers a fantastic view of the New Year's Day Swim and other events.

Coppet Week Regatta, held at the end of May each year, attracts not only local competitors, but also UK and international champions. The Regatta provides keen competition with family friendly dinghy racing, and the sight of around 70 boats of many classes in the bay is a remarkable spectacle. The event is widely appreciated within the sailing fraternity and attracts some 200 visitors from around the UK to the village.

The club also hosts the annual Saundersfoot Regatta in August which provides entertainment and participation for both residents and visitors, with beach fun as well as action on the water.  The vision of the club is to advance water activities and maintain and develop the strong marine heritage of Saundersfoot for the enjoyment of all.
